DELICIOUS! This casual spot near the waterfront boasts tasty (and HUGE) Greek salads and some of the best hummus I've ever eaten. I love that they included so many veggies with the hummus. The lengthwise cucumber slices were a big hit, and I loved how generous they were with the feta and kalamata olives. Yum!
The falafel waffles are good, but there's a little too much black pepper in the mix. And I hope they'll consider noting on the menu that the gyro meat contains gluten. I was lucky that I happened to mention my gluten intolerance while talking about something completely different, so the cashier was able to warn me! I'm not used to gyro places using gluten as a binder.
I also wish they didn't use To-Go packaging for their Dine-In guests. They must waste a LOT of single-use plastic, which feels odd in a city as eco-conscious as Portland.
Overall, a great experience! I'm so happy I stumbled across this restaurant! -

Has the garlic chicken gyro, my friend had the lamb. We both loved our food! Kind of long wait but after eating here, it's worth it!! Yum!

Falafel is too salty. Lettuce tastes like kale. Microscopic portions of feta. Not sure if the tzaziki is made with yogurt. In the very lower selection of falafel I've ever had. Ugh.

Word of caution: These Gyros are so incredibly amazing that any other gyro will taste, I'm sure, like literal garbage. I was in Portland for vacation. So I'm back in California... and I'm depressed. I'm willing to pay whatever amount for a plane ticket and go there today, eat a gyro in bliss and stagger back onto the plane and fly back. Idk. I wish I can live at Angelinas and work there and be paid in gyros.
The bread, the meat, the veggies, the sauces.....(laying on the floor in the fetal position mumbling, "Angelinas, Angelinas"... -

Was lucky to try Angelina's Chicken Gyro at the Saturday market by the water and it was amazing. I recommend getting olives added and the tzatzki on the side so you can dip your gyro yourself. Definitely worth visiting- just be patient, long wait but fresh ingredients
